Are permanent Christmas lights allowed by HOAs?

JellyFish Lighting consistently gains approval from both HOA and ACR committees. Are the lights dimmable?

Yes, they are!

Are the lights replaceable?

Yes. They are low voltage so the homeowner can replace them themselves. We can also come out to do it.

Can I control the front of my home separately from the back?

Yes, we have zoning which allows the ability to only turn on certain sections of lights or to have different patterns on different parts of your home at the same time.

Can I create and save lighting timers?

Yes, you can save multiple nightly & weekly timers as well as calendar events for holidays and other special occasions. We are linked with weather.com so you can link with sunset to sunrise.

Can I customize my own lighting and patterns?

Yes, you can! The lights are individually addressable which allows you to choose which lights you want on and what color (over 16 million different colors). We also have 102 preset patterns.

Can I install the JellyFish Lighting system myself?

YES!  You can install it yourself!  We sell DIY packages at a much lower cost. (Call for pricing).  You simply need to tell us the exact number of linear feet and we can set up a shipment of material to come directly to you!

Can I install this myself?

Yes, we can sell you materials for a self-installation and provide you with directions on how to install. However, it is a difficult process and something we do not recommend.

Can I make a soft white color?

Absolutely!

Can I make my own accent lighting?

Yes, you can! The lights are individually addressable which allows you to choose which lights you want on and what color (anything from bright to soft white). For example, you can turn on two lights at the top of each peak while the rest of the lights stay off.

Do I have to upgrade my hardware to get new features?

With the P2 system, controller updates are sent to your email with instructions on how to update your firmware. App updates will happen through your device’s app store.

How do payments work?

Half down is due to schedule an installation date. The other half is due upon completion.

How do the lights look during the day?

Jellystream lighting matches the exact color of your soffit so that the tracks are almost invisible when installed onto your home. Most people looking at your home in the day would not even know that you have them installed unless you were to point them out.

How long do permanent Christmas lights last?

The longevity of permanent Christmas lights varies based on their type. Our system features a specially crafted, durable outdoor-rated LED design, with each LED bulb containing three lights. Opting for LEDs ensures exceptional resilience, as they are renowned for their longevity and can reliably function for numerous years.

How long do permanent Halloween lights last?

The longevity of permanent Halloween lights varies based on their type. Our system features a specially crafted, durable outdoor-rated LED design, with each LED bulb containing three lights. Opting for LEDs ensures exceptional resilience, as they are renowned for their longevity and can reliably function for numerous years.

How long does installation take?

Our crews average around 150 feet per day.

How long does the system last?

JellyFish Lighting System is a robust, outdoor rated LED lighting system. LED lighting is known for its durability. Each diode (or puck light) has 3 LED lights which makes them brighter than any of our competitors. The LEDs are rated for 30,000 hours of use which is 15-20 years of nightly use for 3-4 hours.

How long has JellyFish Lighting been in business?

The inventor of JellyFish Lighting has been working with his color-changing exterior lights since 2011, and under the JellyFish Lighting name since 2016.

How many different colors and patterns can you do?

The lights are RGB and can produce over 16 million different colors. The user can create custom programs and colors, so the possibilities are limitless.

How much does it cost to repair or fix if I am outside of my warranty?

If your issue is not warranty related, there will be service fee.  Our fee for a non-warranty service issue is

• $80 for the service call plus
• $80 per hour (billed at 30 minute increments)

How much does it cost?

Costs vary slightly because not all homes are the same.  JellyStream Lighting typically charges $25-$30 (*) per linear foot installed plus $650 (*) for the controller. The actual price per foot is based on installation difficulty, roof line style, location, and time of year.

How much electricity does the system use?

The lights on full bright white use less than one watt of power. Also, the controller pulls about 1.1 amps of electricity per 100 feet.

I don’t have a soffit on part of my house. How would I install the LED track on a flat surface?

If you wanted the LED lights to still shine down, we have a specialty track called a Z-Track which allows us to mount the track onto a flat surface… which creates a “false soffit” under the Z-Track. Then the normal/standard track can be mounted underneath the Z-Track and it will shine downward.

If you wanted the LED lights to shine outward, then we can add a specialty track called Fat-Track, which mounts to the wall and provides a good weather resistant mount for the normal/standard track to fit into. Then the normal/standard track can be mounted inside the Fat-Track and shine directly outward.

My Cloud App is stuck. How can I fix it?

If your Cloud App is stuck on the wallpaper/loading screen but never actually comes up, then you will need to clear your mobile device’s app cache and app data.

What if I am late paying my final invoice?

Invoice balances are due at the completion of the install.  If a balance is due and is not paid in a timely manner or communicated and coordinated with the Jellystream Lighting Inc office in a mutually agreeable fashion, Jellystream Lighting Inc reserves the right to deactivate the lights.  A reactivation fee of $100 will be assessed when the lights are reactivated.

What is JellyFish Lighting?

JellyFish Lighting is a permanent color-changing LED lighting system for the exterior of homes. It is capable of everything from nightly accent lighting that mimics recessed can lighting to any color and pattern for your holidays and parties. Easily decorate for all occasions like Christmas, Valentine’s Day, Easter, Memorial Day, Fourth of July, Halloween, Birthday Parties, and more!

What is the system warranty?

We have a warranty of 1 year covering labor and 5 years covering parts/equipment.

The 5 year warranty on parts is based on the following:

There is no way to know how a customer will use their lighting. The usage lifespan of an LED is a minimum of 40,000 hours to a maximum of 50,000 hours.

The following scenarios and math are the basis for establishing the Warranty period:

“NORMAL” USAGE – 5 Hours Per Day

If you use your lights (on average) for 5 hours per day, after 15 years you will have the following total hours of usage

5 hours per day x 365 days per year x 15 years =36,500 hours (which is still under the minimum usage rated lifespan)

“WORST CASE SCENARIO” USAGE – 24 Hours Per Day

However, some customers may “abuse” the LED lighting product and leave the lights on continuously (worst case scenario).

If you use your lights for 24 hours per day, after only 3 years you will have the following total hours of usage

24 hours per day x 365 days per year x 5 years = 43,800 hours (which exceeds the minimum rated lifespan)

Therefore, the warranty period is based on and established using the worst case scenario.

What maintenance is required?

From time to time a light will go out and would need to be replaced.

Where are the controller and power supplies mounted?

The controller and any additional power supplies are mounted indoors, typically on a wall in your garage safe from the elements. They plug into an outlet. One controller can power up to 300 ft depending on the wiring. From there, we run low voltage wire from your garage to the soffit of the first section of roofing.

Where are the lights installed?

The lights are installed to the outer part of the soffit behind the fascia or trim facing downward.

Where is JellyFish Lighting made?

Our controller is manufactured in our factory in Orem, Utah. Our metal is fabricated locally in Utah, Colorado, and Texas. We employ local USA citizens in all locations. In order to make our product more accessible, we manufacture our lights in Asia.

Why is the product Warranty only 5 years?
